My sincere condolences to the family. Lois made me feel so welcome in her home. I was introduced to her by one of our dearly departed friend Diane Bradley. We instantly became friends. I'm very sad for her home going, but I know she is in heaven. Rest my dear friend.
It was New Years Eve and I was invited to the family midnight breakfast. I found comfort with her in the kitchen talking, we both getting to know each other, watching her cook this feast of a breakfast for her family and guests. When I noticed she poured milk! in the grits, shocked, I waited a few mintues, then I asked, Mrs Delores? you poured milk in them grits i've never seen that before. She laughs and asks me, yo mama dont put milk in her grits? I said, no ma,'am. She said it makes'en creamy come look. I get up from the table and walk over to the stove and she is stiring those grits and OMG they are the most creamest grits ive ever seen! then she added some cheese, LORD HAVE MERCY!! Those grits were so delicious, Mrs Delores showed me how to cook grits.(laughing) I have to cook the grits at ALL my family breakfasts, my nephews have to have at least one breakfast at my house when they come into town for a visit. I cant cook grits without thinking about her i never have and i never will. I love you. Lazonya Berrian
