Official Notice of Transition: From the Earthly Tabernacle to Eternal Rest. Ms. Ruby L. Fason Washington, February 13, 1938 — April 28, 2026.
"To everything there is a season… having completed 88 years of grace."
It is with profound reverence and solemn dignity that the Fason / Washington family announces the peaceful transition of our beloved matriarch, Ms. Ruby L. Washington. A cherished resident of Valdosta, Georgia, Ms. Washington gently closed her eyes to this earthly life and entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at the age of 88.
A woman of unwavering faith and steadfast devotion, Ms. Washington was a longtime and pillar member of First Antioch Missionary Baptist Church. She held a deep love for the sanctuary and took great pride in her service on the Usher Board. In this role, she faithfully stood as a doorkeeper in the house of the Lord, welcoming all with grace, warmth, and a spirit of excellence that reflected her inner light.
Beyond the walls of the church, Ms. Washington was known throughout the Valdosta community for her heartfelt “porch ministry.” With a simple wave, a warm smile, and a kind presence, she brought joy and comfort to neighbors and passersby alike, leaving a lasting impression on all who encountered her.
She also found great joy in her time and participation at Innovative Adult Day Care, where she built meaningful connections and shared her gentle spirit with others.
A Homegoing Celebration for Ms. Ruby Lee Fason - Washington will be held on Sunday, May 3, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Antioch Baptist Church, South Oak Street, Valdosta, Georgia.
Committal services will follow at Pallbearers Cemetery. We gather in loving memory to honor her life, her faith, and the legacy she leaves behind.
Professional services have been entrusted to Harrington Funeral Home, Inc.
