NOTICE OF EARTHLY TRANSITION
It is with hearts filled with sorrow yet anchored in hope, we announce the earthly transition of Ms. Shanavier M. Walker of Valdosta, Georgia.
Ms. Walker was born on September 9, 1988, and departed this life on April 11, 2026, at the age of 37, leaving behind a legacy of love, creativity, and service that will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her.
Shanavier’s Life Journey: A proud and talented veteran of the United States Army, Shanavier exemplified strength, courage, and dedication. She was a multifaceted individual whose gifts touched many, an inspired writer, a gifted artist, and a soulful singer. Her creativity extended even further through her passion for basketball and her unique ability to bring stories to life through directing short films.
Above all, Shanavier possessed a deep and abiding love for her family and for children. Her nurturing spirit, radiant smile, and compassionate heart served as a source of encouragement and joy to everyone blessed to encounter her. Though her passing leaves a void, her memory will continue to inspire and uplift.
In this season of grief, we are comforted by these words: The Serenity Prayer - God, grant me the Serenity To accept the things, I cannot change… Courage to change the things I can, And Wisdom to know the difference. Living one day at a time, Enjoying one moment at a time, Accepting hardship as the pathway to peace. Taking, as He did, this sinful world as it is, Not as I would have it. Trusting that He will make all things right if I surrender to His will. That I may be reasonably happy in this life, And supremely happy with Him forever in the next. Amen.
Celebration of Love Service: With solemn honor and deep respect, the family of Ms. Shanavier M. Walker announces her Homegoing Service, to be held on Monday, April 27, 2026, at 10:00 a.m.
The service will take place at the Sanctuary of Woodlawn Forrest Church of Christ.
Full Military Honors will be rendered, followed by entombment at Tallahassee National Cemetery in Tallahassee, Florida, recognizing her service and sacrifice with the highest tribute.
We gather in gratitude for her life, her service, and her enduring legacy.

Rest in peace to my classmate and American hero. She was always so talented and kind and welcoming with a big smile. I'm praying for your families strength during this. Although a tragedy to hear, it is without a doubt that the good are called home early. Life isn't fair, but all we can do is trust God's plan for us. Sending love from my family to yours. Her family shares the blood of a legend. Rest in paradise classmate! ❤️
I am deeply saddened to hear that Shanavier has passed on at such a young age. I attended high school with Shanavier and I enjoyed watching her play basketball. May her soul rest peacefully in the arms of OUR Lord. She will be missed.
Our staff will continue to keep your family in our prayers. We thank you for allowing us to serve your family.
