Official Notice of Earthly Transition
“Her life was a living testimony of faith, love, and service.”
With hearts filled with both sorrow and gratitude, we acknowledge the earthly transition of Pastor Louvenia Ward Straughter of Valdosta, Georgia.
Pastor Straughter blessed the earth on April 1, 1942, and for 84 remarkable years, she graced this world with elegance, wisdom, unwavering faith, and a gentle spirit that touched countless lives. Like Dorcas (Tabitha) in Acts 9:36, she was a God-fearing woman, “full of good works and charitable deeds,” whose life reflected the love of Christ through her devotion to God, her family, and the Body of Christ. She was a matriarch, a pillar of strength, and the foundation upon which generations found love, guidance, and hope.
Having faithfully completed the assignment God entrusted to her, Pastor Straughter peacefully exchanged time for eternity on Sunday, July 19, 2026. Like a gentle mourning dove, she took wings and flew away to everlasting peace and perfect rest in the presence of her Heavenly Father.
While our hearts mourn the absence of her physical presence, we rejoice knowing that her legacy of faith, compassion, and steadfast love will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her. Her footprints remain forever etched in the hearts of her family, her church, and the community she faithfully served.

Mother will be missed. She always said, Pastor never bring a knife to a gun fight. By the way she said either way she was going to win. I truly thank God for her. Rest in peace Mother. Love you always.
To be absent in the body is to be present with the lord. Death didn't win on the cross and death doesn't win today. Her smile and hospitality was always warm and pleasant. She was always helping people regardless of her own circumstances. That I will always remember along with her smile. May Jesus comfort the family as we know he is a comforter. Rest in paradise.
