Obituary For Albert Lee "Big A" Floyd

Funeral service for Albert Floyd 82, of Opelika, AL, will be at 12:00 noon, Saturday, May 30, 2026, at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, 2457 County Road 28, LaFayette, AL 36862 with interment in the church cemetery, Reverend Terrence Holloway will officiate.

Mr. Floyd, who passed away Thursday, May 21, 2026 at the East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, Alabama, was born July 31, 1943, in Chambers County, Alabama.

Public viewing will be Friday, May 29, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Mr. Floyd will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to the service.

He leaves to cherish his memory: three children, Mary (Bertram) Hardnett of Hampton, VA, Adam (Tameka) Floyd and LaTonya (Rodney) Moore both of Auburn, AL; four grandchildren, Gabriella Hardnett, Brandy Nicole Russell, Jada Floyd and Chad Moore; five great-grandchildren, Deion Russell, Briella Hardnett, Landon Hardnett, Lathan Hardnett and Noel Holloway; two sisters, Freedonia (Walt) Golatte of Camp Hill, AL and Fannie Dixon of Syracuse, NY; three brothers, Sims (Lucille) Floyd of Valley, AL, Robert Floyd of LaFayette, AL and Willie B. Floyd of Salem, AL; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family of the late Mr. Albert Lee “Big A” Floyd acknowledges with grateful appreciation all acts of kindness, prayers, cards, telephone calls, flowers, and words of comfort extended to us during our time of bereavement. May God bless each of you.
