Funeral service for Arthur Echols, 94, of Auburn, AL, will be at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, February 22, 2026, at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 2 Day Lily Street, Loachapoka, AL, 36865 with interment in Town Creek Cemetery, 1150 Gay Street, Auburn, AL, 36832, Pastor Anthony Shealey will officiate.
Mr. Echols, who passed away Sunday, February 8, 2026 at his home surrounded by his loved ones in Auburn, Alabama, was born June 23, 1931, in Lee County, Alabama.
Public viewing will be Saturday, February 21, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Mr. Echols will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to the service.
He leaves to cherish his memory: loving wife, Ida Pearl Echols of Auburn, AL; three children, Beulah Mae Heard of Lanett, AL, Eric Lee Echols and (devoted daughter) Sherry Echols both of Auburn, AL; bonus daughter, Mary Elizabeth Rudisill (John Garth) Stauffer of Auburn, AL; special granddaughter, Jada Pearl Hutchinson-Echols of Auburn, AL; special grandson, Radric Jakell Echols of Auburn, AL; four grandchildren, Muriel (Roger) Collier of Opelika, AL, Ralph Heard, Jr. of Lanett, AL, Markis Heard and Chiquita Heard both of Camp Hill, AL; eleven great grandchildren; a host of great-great grandchildren; three sisters, Mozell Warren of Orlando, FL, Lillian Crabb of Auburn, AL and Josephine Stinson of Albany, GA; one brother, James B. Echols of Champaign, IL; one brother-in-law, William (Rosie) Foreman of Lafayette, AL; special friends, Martha Shamp, Cindy (Tim) Beasley, Bob (Liz) Greenleaf, Alice Buchanan all of Auburn, AL and Edward White of Atlanta, GA; three grand dogs, Princess Echols, King Echols and Chanel Echols; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
