Funeral service for Bernice Phillips, 52, of Opelika, AL, will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 18, 2022, at Harris Funeral Home Chapel, Pastor Alzata Florence will officiate and Undre Phillips, Eulogist.
Ms. Phillips, who passed away Thursday, June 9, 2022 at Grandview Medical Center in Birmingham, AL, was born December 9, 1969 in Lee County, Alabama.
Public viewing will be Friday, June 17, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. β 6:00 p.m. (Facial covering is required).
She leaves to cherish her memory: two children, Undre (Deandra) Phillips and Jaylen Phillips both of Hoover, AL; one grandson, Bryson Phillips of Hoover, AL; one uncle, Robert (Shirley) Burton of Camp Hill, AL; one aunt, Betty Ann Wilkerson of Camp Hill, AL; two nieces, Erica Burton of Opelika, AL and Athonia Maddox of Montgomery, AL; one nephew, Christopher (Keisha) Burton, of Beaufort, SC; two great nieces, Rhianna Burton and Iyana Burton ; two great nephews, Christopher Burton and Keenan Burton; one sister-in-law, Mary Jean Burton of Valley, AL; five devoted friends, Cynthia Philpot, Christine Reed, Mary Bryant all of Opelika, AL, Eva Hall of Montgomery, AL and Bridgett Bedell of Auburn, AL; and host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks anyone who wishes to honor Bernice Phillips to please provide memorial contributions to her youngest son for the Jaylen Phillips School and Scholarship Fund via Cash App to $jaylenphillips2025 or mail them to 1329 Riverford Circle, Birmingham, AL 35216.
