Obituary For Bessie "Ruth" Ingram

Funeral service for Bessie Ingram, 81, of Opelika, AL, will be at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, March 14, 2026, at Galilee Missionary Baptist Church, 2259 County Road 290, Opelika, AL 36801 with interment in Evergreen Cemetery, 1409 Monroe Avenue, Opelika, AL, 36801, Reverend Rodney Jones will officiate.

Mrs. Ingram, who passed away Friday, March 6, 2026, at Baptist South in Montgomery, Alabama, was born June 7, 1944, in Tallapoosa County, Alabama.

Public viewing will be Friday, March 13, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Mrs. Ingram will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to the service.

She leaves to cherish her memory: children, John Maddox of Long Island, NY, Ronald Maddox, Phillip (Nikesha) Maddox both of Auburn, AL, Charles Morris of Opelika, AL and John Townsend of Hardeeville, SC; thirty grandchildren; a host of greatgrandchildren; one brother, Jimmie Lee Maddox of Farmingdale, NY; two sisters, Emily Williams of Birmingham, AL and Catherine Pearson of Opelika, AL; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will miss her dearly.
