Obituary For Bobby “Koolaid Kid” Penny
Funeral service for Bobby Penny, 81, of Auburn, AL, will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 6, 2025, at Harris Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Westview Cemetery, 700 Westview Drive, Auburn, AL, 36832, Reverend Johnny Green will officiate.
Mr. Penny, who passed away Tuesday, August 26, 2025 at the East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, Alabama, was born December 6, 1943, in Lee County, Alabama.
Public viewing will be Friday, September 5, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
He leaves to cherish his memory: wife of fifty-nine years, Geraldine Spinks Penny of Auburn, AL; three children, Christopher Penny of Auburn, AL, Tammie (Bruce) Rubin and Bobby Bernard Penny both of Virginia Beach, VA; six grandchildren, Joshua Perkins of Dallas, TX, Selwyn (Kayla) Spratling of Virginia Beach, VA, Te’Kenya (Michael) Alexander, Jr., Alyssa Rubin, Micah Penny all of Virginia Beach, VA and Ryanne Rubin of St. Petersburg, FL; two great-grandchildren, Symora Spratling and Michael Williams II; one brother, Mayor Eddie (Vera) Penny of Fairfield, AL; one sister-in-law, Patsy Houston of Opelika, AL; two special friends, Brother Edward White and Rolahac Phillips both of Auburn, AL; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

So sorry for your loss.
I'm going to miss Pop dearly. He was loving husband, father, and grandfather. A man who loved GOD and his wife and children/grandchildren. He was devoted to attending church and even when his health started to fail he would attend whenever he could. On occasion I or my brother would take him. Momma I know you are going to miss him but just be reminded, "To be absent from the body is to be present with the LORD. He's in a better place now, so cherish all the memories you have of him. May GOD continue to keep and strengthen you during your time of bereavement. Your other son Rolahac. 🙌🏽🙏🏽♥️
