Obituary For Carla Dwanda Terry
Graveside service for Carla Terry, 54, of Valley, AL, will be at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, January 14, 2023 at Lincoln Hill Cemetery, 408 Miller Avenue, Gadsden, AL 35903, Pastor Alicia Crews will officiate.
Ms. Terry, who passed away Friday, December 30, 2022 at the East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, AL, was born March 25, 1968 in Macon County, Alabama.
Public viewing will be Friday, January 13, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. (Facial covering is required).
She leaves to cherish her memories to: two children, Secundia Terry and Shatina Terry (Desmond Spann) both of Opelika, AL; five grandchildren; Marzaviar Dawson, Senijahia Dawson, Kyleria Terry, Kyleigh Hunt and Janiyah Wright all of Opelika, AL; stepfather, Ivy Banks of Yalaha, FL; two sisters, Tameka Jordan (Derrick Broughton) of Opelika, AL and Doretha Jordan of Orlando, FL; three brothers, Thomas (Catherine) Jordan, Jr. of Opelika, AL, Kedrick Banks of Orlando, FL and Bruce Warren of Knoxville, TN; five aunts, Vera Tinsley of Opelika, AL, Michelle Whitlow of Birmingham, AL, Joanne (Gesner) Benjamin, Vanessa (Bobby) Buckles both of Orlando, FL and Ruth Banks of Yalaha, FL; eight uncles, Larry Mills, Morris (Christine) Jordan, Gerald (Jacqueline) Jordan, Willie Summers and Charles (Betty) Summers all of Opelika, AL, JC (Patricia) Terry of Sacramento, CA, John (Joan) Terry of Winter Haven, FL and Jeff (Grisel) Terry of Holland, MI; one great aunt, Mattie Jones of Gadsden, AL; two goddaughters, Tearia Holloway and Kambria Richardson of Pinson, AL; fourteen special friends, Angela Wright, Karen Lilly, Lois Thomas, Erica Marshall, Kristy Waters all of Opelika, AL, Pamela Smith of Decatur, AL, Jackie Leach, Keena Cohill both of Birmingham, AL, Emma Wright of Yalaha, FL, Shirley Truss Robinson of Anniston, AL, Lisa Braham of Orlando, FL, Kathy Rudolph, Sharon Green and Pamela Hunt all of Gadsden, AL; a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Not a day goes by that I don't think about you. There are so many things I've wanted to tell you but couldn't. I can still hear you say "My super body" with the biggest smile ever. i miss you so so so much and wish I could call you to check up on you. i hope god is taking so much care you and ii luv uu so muchh💗💗.
I saw Carla almost every day at the Erie County Fair, up here in Hamburg, NY. She was so engaging and friendly. She was a hard worker but never too busy to stop and chat. I will miss her smile and happy personality.
We met Carla at the Erie County Fair a number of years ago..she said we were like "family" here in Western New York.....today was opening day of The Fair and we looked for her....we asked around and were told she passed....so sad....she had a smile that lit up the room.....please Carla's family....accept our deepest sympathy.....Carla was a special lady.....RIP dear friend.....
Carla Terry was such a beautiful spirited person inside and out; her smile would light up the night sky. I had the privilege of naming her.In my times of sadness she knew how to make me laugh! Her love will forever be embedded into my ♥. I remember when she was about 10 months old she wanted some of my chocolate candy,I told her if she wanted it she would have to walk and get some, lo and behold I spanked her and she begun to walk. I pray that God gives us her family strength and comfort for us to endure while grieving our precious love one Carla Dwanda Terry! Gone but never forgotten! Auntie Joanne Benjamin
