Funeral service for Christopher Fears, 52, of Salem, AL, will be at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, May 22, 2025, at Greater Peace Missionary Baptist Church, 650 Jeter Avenue, Opelika, AL, 36801 with interment in Shiloh A.M.E. Zion #2 Church Cemetery, 333 Lee Road 166, Opelika, AL, 36804, Reverend Clifford E. Jones, Pastor and Officiating, Brother Jeremy Sanders, Tribute Giver.
Mr. Fears, who passed away Thursday, May 15, 2025 at the East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, Alabama, was born February 3, 1973, in Macon County, Alabama.
Public viewing will be Wednesday, May 21, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Mr. Fears will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to the service.
He leaves to cherish his precious memory: mother, Patricia Fears; wife, Kimberly Washington; father-in-law, Willie Moore; brother-in-law, Robert (Cheniqua) Gamble; children, Asheley (D’Andre) Watters and Christopher L. (Miranda) Washington; godson, Jarren Brice “JB” Fears; grandchildren, Nya Watters, Isaiah Cox, Ja’Lynn Washington, Jeremiah Washington and Ruth Ann Washington; grandmother, Ella Fears; aunts, Virginia Fears, Fannie K. McBride, and Willie Mae Brown; uncles, Raymond Graham and Otis Graham; brother, Sian Graham; sister, Ja’meeka Summers; cousins/brothers, Calvin (Danielle) Fears, Meshullam (Cathy) Chambers, Alfred (Aimee) Fuller, Quinn (Andrea) Baldwin, Eric Thomas, Jamie (Teresa) Jenkins, Antonio DeWayne Gary, Jeff (Dana) Lamar, Jermaine Cook, Bernard (Michelle) Sellers, and Johnny Matthews; cousins/sisters, Shirley Hubert, Valerie Fuller, Katina Cooper, Deidra McBride, and Shaunlonnicka Upshaw; granddog, Lucky; grandcats, SJ, Miracle, and Twin, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends, and sports enthusiasts.

I was Christopher's 5th Grade teacher. He was a model student, and his academics was extraordinary. Chris always had a smile on his face and was an eager beaver when it came to learning. My prayers will continue to be with the family.
