Obituary For Clara "Honey" Aldridge Buchanon
Funeral service for Clara Buchanon, 93, of Auburn, AL, will be at 12:00 noon, Saturday, October 17, 2026, at Green Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 390 Lee Road 106, Auburn, AL, 36830 with interment in the church cemetery, Reverend Roland Austin, Pastor and Officiating, Reverend John Johnson, Eulogist.
Mrs. Buchanon, who passed away Saturday, October 10, 2026 at Arbor Springs Health and Rehabilitation Center in Opelika, Alabama, was born October 21, 1932, in Lee County, Alabama.
Public viewing will be Friday, October 16, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. β 6:00 p.m. The family will be present to receive friends from 5:00 p.m. β 6:00 p.m.
Mrs. Buchanon will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to the service.
She leaves to cherish her memory: eight children, Henry (Jo Ann) Aldridge of Buckhead, GA, Linda (Buddy) Smith of Marvyn, AL, Lewis (Jimmlynn) Buchanon, Phillip (Sheila) Buchanon both of Opelika, AL, Ruth (John) Johnson, Mark Buchanon both of Salem, AL, Terry (Lucy) Buchanon of Monroeville, AL and Winston Buchanon of Auburn, AL; two sisters, Katherine (Richard) Jackson and Allean Reese both of Auburn, AL; one brother, Willie (Nellie) Aldridge of Auburn, AL; one sister-in-law, Joann Aldridge of Opa-locka, FL; a special granddaughter, LaKeisha Shannon Windham of Birmingham, AL; a special grandson, Adam (Sharmaine) Muhammad of Auburn, AL; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The family of Mrs. Clara Aldridge Buchanon acknowledges with grateful appreciation all acts of kindness, prayers, cards, telephone calls, flowers, and words of comfort extended to us during our time of bereavement. May God bless each of you.
