Funeral service for Jimmy Collier, 82, of Opelika, AL, will be at 12:00 noon, Saturday, January 10, 2026, at True Deliverance Holiness Church, 936 North Donahue Drive, Auburn, AL, 36832 with interment at Rising Star Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, 21935 US Hwy 80, Opelika, AL, 36804, Bishop Nolan T. Torbert will officiate.
Mr. Collier, who passed away Thursday, January 1, 2026 at his home in Opelika, Alabama, was born August 9, 1943, in Lee County, Alabama.
Public viewing will be Friday, January 9, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Mr. Collier will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to the service.
He leaves to cherish his memory: one daughter, Tracy Collier Dildy of Opelika, AL; bonus son, Derrick Graham of Salem, AL; two bonus daughters, Kimberly Glover of Columbus, GA and Yolanda Billingsley of Salem, AL; three grandchildren, LaSheena Collier of Auburn, AL, Aubrey Porter of Opelika, AL and Koede Davis of Dayton, OH; bonus grandchildren, Rashad Pitts, Keora Glover, Jakima Glover, LaDarian Fields and Jaden Fields; great-grandchildren, Ryan Collier, Bryan Collier, Carson Porter, Z’Sofia Porter, Zaxton Collier and Uriah Glover; two sisters, Mary Ann Goodes (Terry) Lee of Omaha, NE and Lorene “Catfish” Kennedy of Opelika, AL; one brother, Oscar Goodes of Opelika, AL; devoted niece, Margaret “Cookie” Wimberly of Opelika, AL; sister-in-law, Roxann Walton of Birmingham, AL; three goddaughters, Shannon Calloway (Winston) Bryant, Mekisha (Tony) Cochran and Toni Jones Freeman all of Opelika, AL; one godson, Jeffery Reese of Opelika, AL; former wife, Laura Collier of Columbus, GA; four devoted friends, Marshall Reese, John Thomas, Ronnie Hughley and Johnny B. Williams; a host of other relatives and friends.
So very sorry for your loss. Jimmy will be missed 😢, when he walked into a room, never a stranger, always tha same with a smile, speaking, singing and dancing (according where he was at the time). Take your rest, 82 years of life!! Oh what a blessing.
