Funeral service for Dennis Johnson, 71, of Opelika, AL, will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at Harris Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Evergreen Cemetery, 1409 Monroe Avenue, Opelika, AL, 36801, Bishop Larry Johnson will officiate.

Mr. Johnson, who passed away Thursday, July 10, 2025 at his home in Opelika, Alabama, was born December 4, 1953, in Lee County, Alabama.

Public viewing will be Tuesday, July 15, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

He leaves to cherish his memory: wife, Earnestine Johnson of Opelika, AL; four children, Joseph (Kimberly) Foreman, Kim Foreman, Lisa (Ron) Stevenson and Dennis Johnson, Jr. all of Opelika, AL; thirteen grandchildren, Tiana, Quentavious, LaDarius, Nashavia, Shanavia, Kierra, Kiandra, Shamya, Antavious, Amani, Roniyah, Joseph and Azaria; ten great-grandchildren; two bonus daughters, Takelia (Ronnie) Lilly and Tameika Pinkard both of Opelika, AL; three brothers, Bishop Larry (Nakel) Johnson of Camp Hill, AL, Jerry Johnson and Michael (Beverly) Johnson both of Opelika, AL; five sisters, May Sue (John) Hollins of Atlanta, GA, Betty Nunn, Judy Diane Thomas, Sharon (JW) Hall of Opelika, AL and Shirley Dowdell of Opelika, AL; one aunt, Dorothy Jean Johnson of Opelika, AL; four sisters-in-law, Johnnie Kate Ingram, Carrie Johnson, Alice Johnson all of Opelika, AL, and Annie Ruth Johnson of Beulah, AL; a special friend, Tyrone Harvey; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
