Obituary For Dorothy Jean Copeland "Doris" Dozier

Funeral service for Dorothy Dozier, 77, of Valley, AL, will be at 1:00 p.m. (CST)/2:00 p.m. (EST), Saturday, August 1, 2026, at Mt. Nebo Missionary Baptist Church, 5231 County Road 389, Cusseta, AL 36852 with interment in the church cemetery, Reverend Travis Floyd will officiate.

Mrs. Dozier, who passed away Saturday, July 25, 2026 at the East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, AL, was October 12, 1948, in Lee County, Alabama.

Public viewing will be Friday, July 31, 2026 from 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. (CST)

Mrs. Dozier will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to the service.

She leaves to cherish her memory: two sons, Charles D. Copeland (Della Mae Barnes) and Edward L. Copeland both of Valley, AL; four grandchildren, Shimaya Johnson, Kentavious ā€œKCā€ Copeland, Monte Allen all of Valley, AL and Lafavor (Robert) Taylor of New Orleans, LA; three great-grandchildren, JaTovi Copeland of New Orleans, LA and the twins who she loved as her own, Dakota Gray and Denim Gray both of Valley, AL; one sister, Ella M. Jackson of Opelika, AL; three brothers, Conzo (Jean) Copeland of Westpoint, GA, Roger (Clara) Copeland of Opelika, AL and Leonard Copeland of Valley, AL; brother-in-law, Jesse Jackson of Valley, AL; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The family of the late Mrs. Dorothy Jean Dozier acknowledges with grateful appreciation all acts of kindness, prayers, cards, telephone calls, flowers, and words of comfort extended to us during our time of bereavement. May God bless each one of you.
