To the Family of Earnestine Jones, please accept our sincere condolences on the passing of her. Always know that Earnestine was a loving and kind individual. She had a personality that could light up any space. Earnestine was an amazing cook. On the list our favorite things to eat at her home in Tuskegee was Cabbages & Rootabages. Earnestine most definitely put White Idaho Sweet Potato Pie on the map in Alabama. If you never had these particular dishes. My apologies, because you missed a real treat. And I was fortunate enough to share the kitchen with her when she made those dishes. As Alley Cat, Allen Jr., Hosea, Toledo, and Big Mike shoot pool. Oh my that was a real sight to see. Those were the good ole days. My husband and I thank her for her unconditional love of the two of us. It is so unfortunate that we somehow lost contact when she relocated to Opelika. We were deeply saddened to hear of her passing and immediately reached out to Family. Always know that Steeney believed in God, served in the house of the Lord, and was so thoughtful. Her magnitude of helping others was insurmountable. My husband and I shall truly miss her beautiful smile, wonderful humor, and amazing friendship. She ranked in high regards for Big Mike Johnson and family. We love you Earnestine! Rest till you hear the sound of the trumpet. John 14:1-3 Amen.
I will hold on to the memories from our childhood to adulthood days. Your kindness, loving personality, good cooking and telling the truth in love will always be remembered. Family may God continue to strengthen you.
Rest in Heavenly Peace
