Funeral service for Eddie Philpot, 77, of Auburn, AL, will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 23, 2024, at Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 2641 Highway 29 North, Auburn, AL, 36830 with interment in Mt. Vernon Baptist Church Cemetery, 4881 US Highway 29 South, Auburn, AL 36830, Reverend Chester Levett will officiate.
Mr. Philpot, who passed away Monday, March 18, 2024 at his home in Auburn, AL, was born December 9, 1946, in Lee County, Alabama.
Public viewing will be Friday, March 22, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. β 6:00 p.m.
Mr. Philpot will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to the service.
He leaves to cherish his memory: a devoted wife, Evelyn Philpot of Auburn, AL; three daughters, Veronica Philpot-Knight of Notasulga, AL, Alicia Felton (Olden) of Salem, AL and Maxine Harrison of Auburn, AL; three sons, Courtney Dowdell, Garrick (Andrea) Dowdell both Auburn, AL and Alonzo Dowdell of Phenix City, AL; two loving sisters, Dorothy Wilson of Millbrook, AL and Annie Wilborn of Auburn, AL; three brothers, Earnest (Sally Mae) Philpot, Jr., Jewel (Belinda) Philpot and Willie Frank Philpot all of Auburn, AL; sixteen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; four sisters-in-law, Anita Dowdell of Auburn, AL, Lourenia Wilborn of Opelika, AL, Sharon (Jeff) Lewis of Tuskegee, AL and Virginia (John) Galloway of Los Angeles, CA; three brothers-in-law, Bennie (Doris) Dowdell of Opelika, AL, Oscar Dowdell of Montgomery, AL and Clinton (Authurine) Dowdell of Loachapoka, AL; devoted friend, Thomas Reese of Auburn, AL; a special cousin, Joyce Sistrunk of Auburn, AL; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
