Obituary For Edward "Jr" Shephard, Jr.

Funeral service for Edward Shephard, 56, of Opelika, AL, will be at 12:00 noon, Tuesday, February 22, 2022, at Greater Peace Missionary Baptist Church, 650 Jeter Avenue, Opelika, AL 36801 with interment in Evergreen Cemetery, Reverend Clifford E. Jones will officiate.

Mr. Shephard, who passed away on Thursday, February 10, 2022 at Baptist South Hospital in Montgomery, AL, was born September 14, 1965 in Lee County, Alabama.

Public viewing will be Monday, February 21, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. (Facial covering is required). Mr. Shephard will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to the service.

He leaves to cherish his memory: wife, Crystella “Rene” Shephard of Opelika, AL; four children, Chrystle Shipman, Christine Ponds both of Opelika, AL, Kenyanna (Earl) Piner of Birmingham, AL and Matthew (Megan) Ponds of Columbus, GA; mother, Eloise Shephard of Opelika, AL; three sisters, Elizabeth Shephard, Jacqueline Diane Shephard both of Hiram, GA and Barbara (Reverend Rodney) Shephard Thomas of Salem, AL; eight grandchildren; six aunts, Myrtle Lee Wallace, Clara Ingram, Susie Hughley all of Opelika, AL, Geraldine Long of LaFayette, AL, Mary (Tracy) Nelson of Salem, AL and Ruby Gibson of Indianapolis, IN; three uncles, Howard Ingram of Atlanta, GA, Paul (Janice) Wallace of Indianapolis, IN and Moses (Kathy) Ingram, Jr. of Opelika, AL; devoted friend, Kenneth Crowder of Opelika, AL; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
