Private Funeral service for Emma Roberts, 86, of Opelika, AL, will be at 12:00 noon, Saturday, January 23, 2021, at Bethesda Missionary Baptist Church, 201 South 4th Street, Opelika, AL 36801 with interment in Garden Hills Cemetery, Reverend Anthony Pogue will officiate.
Mrs. Roberts, who passed away Sunday, January 17, 2021 at Emory Hospital in Decatur, GA, was born March 28, 1934 in Lee County, Alabama.
Public viewing for Mrs. Roberts will be Friday, January 22, 2021, from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Mrs. Roberts will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to the service which is open to the public.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her husband of 64 years, Orville Roberts of Opelika, AL; four children, Michael Roberts, Steven (Rosa) Roberts both of Opelika, AL, Michelle Roberts of Gaithersburg, MD and Stephanie (Anthony) Redmon of Simpsonville, SC; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, John (Karin) Roberts of Steilacoom, WA; a sister-in-law, Bettye Roberts of Carrollton, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
CDC recommends that people wear cloth face coverings in public settings when around people outside of their household, especially when other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain.
