Funeral service for Eva Thornton, 68, of Opelika, AL, will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 24, 2025, at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, 432 Maple Street, Opelika, AL, 36801, with interment in Evergreen Cemetery, 1409 Monroe Avenue, Opelika, AL, 36801, Reverend Charles Magby will officiate.
Ms. Thornton, who passed away Sunday, January 19, 2025, at Canterbury Rehabilitation and Healthcare Facility in Phenix City, Alabama, was born October 16, 1956 in Lee County, Alabama.
Public viewing will be Thursday, January 23, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. β 6:00 p.m.
She leaves to cherish her precious memory: three children, Innikka Thornton of Opelika, AL, Decarlos Thornton, Sr. of Cincinnati, OH and Dontavious Thornton of Opelika, AL; eight grandchildren; two sisters, Alice Chambers of Atlanta, GA and Diane Thornton of Opelika, AL; four brothers, Joe Lewis Thornton, Robert (Cynthia) Thornton both of Opelika, AL, Jerry (Ruby) Thornton of Auburn, AL and Tyrone (Karla) Thornton of Villa Rica, GA; five aunts, Mary Ann Thornton, of Decatur, GA, Mary Lillie Thornton, Mary Jimmie Carr both of Opelika, AL, Christine Thornton of Rex, GA and Patricia (Robert) McGuire of Decatur, GA; a special friend, Austin James of Atlanta, GA; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, devoted caregivers and Southeast Hospice.
