Obituary For Forranta Lemond “Tay” Floyd:
Funeral service for Forranta Floyd, 45, of Auburn, AL, will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 8, 2025, at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 2 Day Lily Street, Loachapoka, AL, 36865 with interment in Pine Level Cemetery, 4650 Arrow Head Drive, Loachapoka, AL, 36865, Reverend Anthony Shealey will officiate.
Mr. Floyd, who passed away Wednesday, July 30, 2025 at the East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, Alabama, was born March 16, 1980, in Lee County, Alabama.
Public viewing will be Thursday, August 7, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Mr. Floyd will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to the service.
He leaves to cherish his precious memory: loving wife of 19 years, Valencia Floyd of Opelika, AL; mother, Earnestine Slaughter of Loachapoka, AL; father, Alvin (Belinda) Slaughter of Loachapoka, AL; one sister, Brianna Benson of Auburn, AL; paternal grandfather, Ruben Slaughter of Loachapoka, AL; maternal grandmother, Mary Ella Floyd of Loachapoka, AL; mother-in-law, Betty Hunter of Opelika, AL; one sister-in-law, Mahogany Lewis of Opelika, AL; six aunts, Willie Mae (Terry) Bufford of Auburn, AL, Emma (Tommy) Lockhart, Beatrice Floyd, Cheryl Slaughter, Bernice (Dexter) Jackson and Melissa Slaughter all of Loachapoka, AL; three uncles, Renza Floyd, John (Freda) Slaughter and Michael (Sandra) Slaughter all of Loachapoka, AL; two nieces, Markhia Jenkins and Zy’Moria Childrey; two nephews, Arequavious Griffin and Jace Ransaw; two special co-workers, David France and Jeff Nolan; three special cousins as brothers, Tommy Floyd, Antonio Floyd and Dewon Butler; a host of cousins and friends.
