Funeral service for Freddie Tinsley, 78, of Auburn, AL, formerly Camp Hill, AL, will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 20, 2021, at Auburn-Opelika Metro Seventh Day Adventist Church, 1201 South Uniroyal Road, Opelika, AL 36804 with interment in Spring Hill Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, 4 Bond Spur Road, Camp Hill, AL 36850, Dr. Dwayne Campbell will officiate.
Mr. Tinsley, who passed away Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at the East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, AL, was born October 29, 1942 in Tallapoosa County, Alabama.
Public viewing for Mr. Tinsley will be Tuesday, January 19, 2021, from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
He leaves beautiful memories and a strong legacy to: his loving wife, Susan Johnson Tinsley of Syracuse, NY; a devoted daughter and caregiver, Jannette Rowe, Auburn, AL; one dear son, Zachary Johnson, Syracuse, NY; a daughter Carolyn (Daniel) Caldwell, Palm Springs, CA; a brother, Ricky Jones, Auburn, AL; three grandchildren, Suhaila (Robert) Thames, Glenwood Springs, CO, Monique (Shaun) Williams, Marietta, GA and Jonathon Caldwell, Palm Springs, CA; five great-grandchildren, Oscar Robert “Quinn” Thames, V, Maya Jalyn Thames, Noah Oliver Thames, Savannah Williams, and Sasha Williams; two special nephews, Dorian (Kimberly) Brooks, West Point, GA; Omar Brooks, LaGrange, GA; a special friend and caregiver, Opal Stowe, Auburn, AL; three special friends, Montez Varner, Shirley Dorsey and Anne Bennett; several grandnieces, grandnephews, many other relatives, church family, and dear friends.

I chose purple because that's my favorite color. I think my husband thought I wore it well. Because I was wearing purple in some of his favorite pictures of me.
