Obituary For Holsie Thomas, Jr.

Funeral service for Holsie Thomas, Jr., 81, of Salem AL, will be at 1:00 (EST) p.m., Saturday, June 29, 2019, at Mountain Springs Missionary Baptist Church, 4789 Lee Road 158, Salem, AL 36874 with interment in the church cemetery, Reverend George Rampey will officiate.

Mr. Thomas, who passed away Monday, June 24, 2019 at the Bethany House in Auburn, AL, was born September 2, 1937 in Lee County, Alabama.

Public viewing will be Friday, June 28, 2019, from 2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. (EST). Family will receive relatives and friends from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. (EST) at the funeral home. Mr. Thomas will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to the service.

Survivors include: devoted wife, Fannie Thomas of Salem, AL; three children, Ray (Ann) Thomas of Opelika, AL, Rose (Clance) Frazier of Salem, AL and Rodney Thomas of Salem, AL; five grandchildren, Mario (Monite) Durr of Auburn, AL, Cornelius Dowdell of Atlanta, GA, LaShareka Edwards of Smiths, AL, Ambria Frazier of Salem, AL and Tyron (Chyenetta) Dowdell of Columbus, GA; twelve great-grandchildren; two adoptive sons, Kevin (Jennifer) Williams of Cusseta, AL and Reverend Johnny (Vanessa) Nelms of Opelika, AL; a cousin as a brother, Jessie (Dorothy) Harris of Cleveland, OH; two sisters-in-law, Lula (Adell) Johnson of Hurtsboro, AL and Cindy Graham of Jacksonville, FL; six brothers-in-law, Bill Coar of Phenix City, AL, William Graham of Salem, AL, James (Carol) Graham of Jacksonville, FL, Bobby Lee (Nanella) Graham of Atlanta, GA, James Burton and Judge Maddox both of Opelika, AL; devoted nieces and nephews, Rose (Percy) Marks, Charlene (David) Heard, Curtis (Virginia) Thomas, Bonnie (Denard) Brown, Willie Ann (Rev.
