Funeral service for James Hughley, 72, of Opelika, AL, will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 15, 2025, at Flat Rock Missionary Baptist Church, 4420 Oak Bowery Road, Opelika, AL, 36801 with interment in the church cemetery, Reverend L.W. Myers, Jr. will officiate.
Mr. Hughley, who passed away Wednesday, November 5, 2025 at Arbor Lake Health and Rehab in Opelika, Alabama, was born July 7, 1953, in Lee County, Alabama.
Public viewing will be Friday, November 14, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Mr. Hughley will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to the service.
He leaves to cherish his precious memory: five sisters, Hattie Parker of Opelika, AL, Betty Hughley, Ellie Hughley both of Springfield Gardens, NY, Roenia (Henry) Janigan of Calera, AL and Francis Joff of Atlanta, GA; three brothers, Harris (Patricia) Hughley of Cambria Heights, NY, Keith (Angela) Billingslea of Jacksonville, FL and Anthony (Jona) Pressley of Sand Springs, OK; a special niece, Shameka Parker; two nieces, Patrina Hughley and Nasha Brooks; a special nephew, Terrell Hughley; special great niece, Sha’Dimun Parker; great nieces and nephews, Shakiel Parker, Akebia Jones, Cash Williams and Dakota Foreman; a special great-great niece, Kynslei Porter; great-great niece, Kynedii Jones; great-great nephew, Bryson Parker; a host of other relatives and friends.
