Mr. James "Jimmy" Washington, Jr., a master of his craft and a pillar of his community, passed away peacefully at his home in Auburn, Alabama, on Wednesday, May 21, 2025. Born February 27, 1964, in Macon County, Alabama, to Mr. James and Mrs. Elizabeth Bascomb Washington, Sr., Jimmy was a man whose presence was felt deeply by all who knew him.
A proud graduate of Tuskegee Institute High School, Jimmy's passion for craftsmanship led him to Opelika Technical College, where he honed his skills to become a master welder in both MIG and TIG welding. His dedication to his trade was evident in his work history, having served at Diversified Products in Opelika, Alabama, Fresenius Kidney Care of Opelika, and Briggs and Stratton in Auburn, Alabama in maintenance. Jimmy's talents extended beyond his professional life as he worked on lawn mowers and served as a handyman to the community, always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need.
Jimmy's entrepreneurial spirit shone brightly as he achieved his ultimate dream of self-employment. He became the owner and landlord of Washington Park and tended various locations around the area, where his hard work and dedication was evident in every endeavor he undertook.
Known for his generous heart, Jimmy was a man who preferred to live life simply and authentically. A man of integrity, kindness, and unwavering commitment to his community.
