Obituary For James Willie "Duck" Rowell, Jr.
Graveside service for James Rowell, 63, of Opelika, AL, will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 27, 2025, at Evergreen Cemetery, 1409 Monroe Avenue, Opelika, AL, 36801, Bishop Kenneth Carter, Sr. will officiate.
Mr. Rowell, who passed away Friday, December 19, 2025 at the Bethany House in Auburn, Alabama, was born October 3, 1962, in Macon County, Alabama.
Public viewing will be Friday, December 26, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. β 6:00 p.m.
He leaves to cherish his memory: devoted companion, Christine Cunningham of Tuskegee, AL; three stepchildren, Freddie (Felicia) Cunningham, Doris Cunningham and John Cunningham all of Tuskegee, AL; five grandchildren, Deshanoe (George) Ishman, Keone Cunningham, Nathaniel Cunningham all of Tuskegee, AL, Venisha Cunningham and Latricie (John) Garrett both of Montgomery, AL; six great-grandchildren, Treyvon Fort, Giyah Ishman, Katelyn Fergerson, Marquie Fergerson, Jaleah Hardie and Jahara Garrett; two brothers, Melvin Rowell (Sherell Johnson) of Notasulga, AL and Earl Rowell (Renee Luckett) of Opelika, AL; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
