Obituary For Ja'Tavious “Bill” Tremon Thomas

Funeral services for Ja’Tavious Thomas, 22, of Opelika, AL, will be at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at St. James Missionary Baptist Church, 1335 Auburn Street, Opelika, AL 36801 with interment in Evergreen Cemetery, Reverend L.W. Booker, Pastor and Bishop Designate Calvin Daniel, Eulogist.

Mr. Thomas, who passed away Monday, May 8, 2023 at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, Alabama, was born March 28, 2001, in Lee County, Alabama.

Public viewing will be Tuesday, May 16, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. (Facial covering is required.)

Mr. Thomas will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to the service.

He leaves to cherish his memory: parents, Omegal Lockhart (Terpekas Lockhart) and Montavius Thomas both of Opelika, AL; four brothers, Or’Tavious Thomas and Alpha-Kailee Thompson, Maleek Lockhart and Princeton Lockhart all of Opelika, AL; four sisters, Ty-Tiana Lockhart of Atlanta, GA, Zy’Keria Thompson of Opelika, AL, Janiyah Thomas of Lanett, AL and Kylen Landers of Lafayette, AL; paternal grandparents, Mitchell Thomas of Salem, AL, Emma France of Opelika, AL and Charlie France of Auburn, AL; maternal grandparents, Vernita Lockhart (Alan Harris), Jimmy Dumas; a devoted aunt, Ericka (Stanley) Gray of Opelika, AL; five aunts, Stephanie Stewart of Phenix City, AL, Taleshia Core of Auburn, AL, Ashley (Troy) Butler, Shamika France and Brittany Mennifee both of Opelika, AL; two devoted uncles, Demeritus France of Opelika, AL and Jason (Whitney) Mennifee of Phenix City, AL; six uncles, Delanda O’Neal, Anthony Dumas both of Opelika, AL, Antonio (Anisa) Busby of Warner Robins, GA, Mitchell (Candace) Thomas of Chicago, IL, Marico France and Sharhon France both of Auburn, AL; a devoted friend, Ryan Trask; a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
