Funeral service for Jean Ray, 82, of Buffalo, NY, formerly of Waverly, AL, will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 31, 2026, at Harris Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Garden Hills Cemetery, 1218 Frederick Road, Opelika, AL, 36801, Leon Harris will officiate.
Ms. Ray, who passed away Thursday, January 22, 2026 in Buffalo, New York, was born October 9, 1943, in Lee County, Alabama.
Public viewing will be Friday, January 30, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
She leaves to cherish her memory: three sisters, Dorothy Askew and Gaynell Dowdell both of Opelika, AL and Mary McBride of Columbus, OH; one brother, Nathaniel Ray, Sr. of Buffalo, NY; special nieces, Melissa Ray, Robin (Kenneth) Crowder and Shannon (Winston) Bryant; a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, great-great-nephews, cousins and friends.
