Funeral service for Jeffery Dowdell, 53, of Opelika, AL, will be at 1:00 p.m., Friday, September 23, 2022, at Power of Praise Church of Deliverance, 3811 Marvyn Parkway, Opelika, AL 36801 with interment in Evergreen Cemetery, Bishop Larry Torbert will officiate. (Facial covering is required)

Mr. Dowdell, who passed away Saturday, September 17, 2022 in Opelika, AL, was born August 31, 1969 in Lee County, Alabama.

Public viewing will be Thursday, September 22, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. (Facial covering is required).

Mr. Dowdell will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to the service. (Facial covering is required)

He leaves to cherish his memory: mother, Hazel Dowdell of Opelika, AL; six children, Jadarius Dowdell, Jefferyal Dowdell, Kanesha Carlisle, Alexander (Tatyana) Pitts, Jessica Williams and Kaneshia Carr all of Opelika, AL; four grandchildren, Janyriah Dowdell, Journae Dowdell, Zyion Buckhanon and Ayannah Edwards; two sisters, Trina Dowdell Reed and Zangelia (Mario) Dowdell-Harrison all of Opelika, AL; a devoted companion, Laquana Evans of Opelika, AL; grandmother, Essie Lee Maddox of Opelika, AL; one uncle, Nathaniel (Martha) Evans of Opelika, AL; four aunts, Faye Lockhart, Deborah (Michael) Sanders, Marlene Maddox and Selena Robinson all of Opelika, AL; one great aunt, Johnnie Mae Dowdell of New York; five nephews, Rodrick Kimble, Martavious Kimble, Jerell Kimble, Zavion (Estefany) Covington and Z’Cari Bynum; two nieces; Zaria Peters and Zyuna Ross; a host of great nieces, great nephews, cousins and friends.
