Obituary For Jimmie James Stroud

Funeral services for Jimmie Stroud, 73, of Opelika, AL, will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 27, 2023, at New Hope Baptist Church, 4793 County Road 89 South, Camp Hill, AL, 36850 with interment in the church cemetery, Reverend Henry Cooper will officiate.

Mr. Stroud, who passed away Saturday, May 20, 2023 at the Bethany House in Auburn, Alabama, was born October 24, 1949 in Tallapoosa County, Alabama.

Public viewing will be Friday, May 26, 2023, from 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Mr. Stroud will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to the service.

He leaves to cherish his precious memory: three children, Tammie (David) Foreman of Camp Hill, AL; Kathy Bledsoe and Erica Stroud both of Opelika, AL; eight grandchildren, Breyanna Ross, Vincent Jefferson, Mario Jones, Marquita Foreman, Christopher (Bryshonda) Stroud, Diamone Boleware, Destiny Stroud and Gregory Frazier, Jr., seventeen great-grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy M. Stroud Smith and Lillie M. Lockhart both of Opelika, AL; one brother, Joe F. Stroud of Dadeville, AL; four step-sisters, Shirley Frazier of Camp Hill, AL, Mary G. Jackson, Barbara Bandy both of Opelika, AL and Helen Patrick of Chicago, IL; one step-brother, Paul (Charity) Smith, of Opelika, AL; two sisters-in-law, Mary Pearl Reeder and Dora Mae Stroud both of Camp Hill, AL; devoted friend, Willie James Pullium of Camp Hill, AL; a host of other relatives and friends.
