Obituary For John Andrew “Po Boy” Carlisle
Funeral service for John Carlisle, 75, of Opelika, AL, will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 7, 2026, at Harris Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Zion at the Hill A.M.E. Zion Church, 3845 Lee Road 29, Opelika, AL, 36804, Reverend Leon Marshall will officiate.
Mr. Carlisle, who passed away Saturday, January 31, 2026 at the Bethany House in Auburn, Alabama, was born July 25, 1950, in Lee County, Alabama.
Public viewing will be Friday, January 6, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
He leaves to cherish his memory: two sisters, Dorothy (Wilbur) Reese, Ruth Strickland both of Opelika, AL; three brothers, Chester (Linda) Carlisle, Lester Carlisle and Lugene Carlisle all of Opelika, AL; one aunt, Sarah Mitchell of Opelika, AL; three special nieces, Katherine Carlisle, Ebony Strickland and Brianna Carlisle all of Opelika, AL; three special friends, Janet McGlaughn, Virginia Graham and William Presley; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
