Funeral service for John Philpot, 70, of Auburn, AL, will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 12, 2025, at Mt. Vernon Missionary Baptist Church, 4881 US Highway 29 South, Auburn, AL, 36830 with interment in the church cemetery, Reverend Thomas Brown will officiate.
Mr. Philpot, who passed away Friday, April 4, 2025 at his home in Auburn, Alabama, was born October 24, 1954 in Macon County, Alabama.
Public viewing will be Friday, April 11, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 pm.
Mr. Philpot will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to the service.
He leaves to cherish his precious memory: six children, Nicko Grimmett of Auburn, AL, Kenneth (Amy) Frazier of Opelika, AL, Kimberly Frazier “Lee Lee” Thomas of Salem, AL, Nakeith Grimmett (Teresa Thompson), John Arthur (Tyeisha) Philpot, Jr. both of Locust Grove, GA and Serita (James) Jones of Atlanta, GA; thirteen grandchildren; eight great- grandchildren; one sister, Minnie (James) Allen of Auburn, AL; one aunt, Addie (James) Johnson of Rochester, NY; three nephews, Everett Lamar Harris of New Orleans, LA, Timothy (Patricia) Allen of Auburn, AL and Marcell Allen of Novato, CA; a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
