Obituary For Larry Charles “Demo” Dawson
Funeral service for Larry Dawson, 67, of Opelika, AL, will be at 1:00 p.m., Monday, September 30, 2024, at True Deliverance Holiness Church, 936 North Donahue Drive, Auburn, Alabama 36832 with interment in Evergreen Cemetery, 1409 Monroe Avenue, Opelika, Alabama 36801, Bishop Nolan T. Torbert will officiate.
Mr. Dawson, who passed away Monday, September 23, 2024 at the VA Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama, was born August 1, 1958, in Lee County, Alabama.
Public viewing will be Sunday, September 29, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Mr. Dawson will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to the service.
He leaves to cherish his precious memory: a loving wife, Kitzi Dawson of Opelika, AL; a daughter, Tiffany (Jimmy) Duncan of Anniston, AL; four step-children, Kiyasha Reid, Kyandra Reid, Keon Reid all of Opelika, AL and Kamisha (George) Cook of Columbus, GA; two grandchildren, Alexzandria Taylor and Trentez Elston; step-mother, Georgia Dawson of Cusseta, AL; four brothers, Donald (Jennifer) Dawson of Opelika, AL, Aaron (Sherry) Dawson of Stonecrest, GA, Christopher (Kimberly) Dawson and Lester (Traci) Dawson both of Cleveland, OH; two sisters, Julia Ruiz of Riverdale, GA and Linda (Kent) Dowell of Opelika, AL; father-in-law, Jimmy Lee (Annie) Johnson of Salem, AL; mother-in-law, Barbara Allen of Opelika, AL; three sisters-in-law, LaSonya (Avery) Pitts of Opelika, AL, Tina Stephens of Salem, AL and Annette Dawson of Opelika, AL; four brothers-in-law, Jimmy Lee Johnson II of Birmingham, AL, Shaun Derrick (Marquetta) Edwards, Jimmy Lee Johnson, Jr. both of Opelika, AL and Jijuan Knight of Auburn, AL; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, bonus children that was a vital part of his life, other relatives and friends.
