Funeral service for Leonora Coles, 88, of Opelika, AL, will be at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, March 13, 2025, at Greater Peace Missionary Baptist Church, 650 Jeter Avenue, Opelika, AL, 36801 with interment in Garden Hills Cemetery, 1218 Frederick Road, Opelika, AL, 36801, Reverend Clifford E. Jones, Pastor and Officiating, Reverend Eric Dowdell, Eulogist.
Mrs. Coles, who passed away Thursday, March 6, 2025 at the East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, Alabama, was born April 20, 1936, in Muscogee County, Georgia.
Public viewing will be Wednesday, March 12, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Mrs. Coles will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to the service.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories: eight children, Alfonzo (Vivian) Freeman of Auburn, AL, Lillie Hollis of Atlanta, GA, Danny (Brenda) Barrow of Opelika, AL, Earl (Olia Mae) Cole of Auburn, AL, Alfred Lorenzo Cole of Opelika, AL, Vanessa (Wilmer) Amos of Smyrna, GA, Walter L. Cole of Opelika, AL and Virneieva Holstick of Auburn, AL; thirty grandchildren, Eric (Lakeshia) Dowdell, Katina Barrow, Machele Colquitt, Adrian Core, Nakia Gafney, Brikita Barrow, Royal (Miranda) Barrow, Tarence Barrow (Carrie Shorter), DaNavian (Starone) Spratling, John Strickland, Stephen (Kimberly) Strickland, Shanavian Strickland, Sedrick (Tomeka) Strickland, Courtney (Trian) McMickens, Brittany (Montavious) Cole-Bulger, Bianca Cole, Earl Cortez Cole (Nina Darby), Candy Bellamy, Alfred (Bratioka) Cole, Jr., Courtney Wright, Justin Wright, Daniel Wright, Anthony Freeman, Zeronica (Ray) Campbell, Skylar Holstick, Worldy Holstick, Petric Holstick, Cameron Holstick, Haleah Holstick and Kadlen Holstick; sister-in-law, Channie Cole of Madison, MS; a host of great-grandchildren; a host of great-great grandchildren; one nephew, George Ralph Brummit of Opelika, AL; two nieces, Juanita McKinney and Ocie Pearl Barrow both of Miami, FL; numerous nieces and nephews from the Vinsons, McGhees and Huguleys families; a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.

I will truly miss u Ms.Leonora, when I would come to Opelika would try to stop bye to say hello. You always said something funny make me laugh.
