We would like to thank Mr. Pete for treating us like family. Mr. Pete and Mrs Bernice were exceptional examples of what a father, mother, in-law and grandparent should be, and will always be remembered with the most loving thoughts and memories. Mr. Pete was truly a man who took care of his family. He truly truly loved his wife Mrs Bernice and she truly loved him. Hopefully everyone takes comfort in knowing that they are finally back together in a beautiful place for their eternal life with GOD! Love forever, Reuben, Stephanie & Steffon
Sending our most sincere and heartfelt condolences to the Philpot family. I worked with "Pot" for many years and shared many good times with him and his family. He is truly going to be missed!
A life well lived and a great example of a father figure. I will always cherish the memories from football talk in the barber shop to the fishing stories. Thank you for being a part my village.
Respectfully,
The Gullatte Family.

Prayers for my cousins and their families during this time of bereavement. Uncle Peter was a great person and the reason Alabama football has become an integral part of my life. I wouldn't be a fervent fan today, but not for him. I have many happy memories from my summer vacations in Auburn and visits with uncle Peter and aunt Bonnie. Rest in peace, uncle Peter, God has now gained a loving friend.

Condolences ๐ and prayers to the Philpot family. Such a great hearted man gone to soon RIP Peter. Moses & Sonjia Thomas Loachapoka, Al.
A heart of gold stopped beating. Working hands at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best. Leaves and flowers may wither, golden sun may set. But the hearts that loved you dearly, are the ones that won't forget. This man was a father to us all. As a RollTide fan, Peter gave me the nickname Fenox, which I still use today. He also inspired me to become a fan of the greatest college football team in American history. Peter's excitement and enthusiasm in debating college football with his peers in the neighborhood was so infectious to me that I became a fan of the Crimson Tide. Peter was like a father to everyone on 29, especially the Cigarette Quarter. Many of us were fatherless or did not have a father in our lives. In addition to being a barber, he was also a counselor, a brother, a mayor and a friend. His wife, Bunny, and he were a shining example of what a marriage and relationship are supposed to look like, and maybe that's just from an outsider's perspective. However, believing is seeing. All we saw was a family that stayed together, raised all boys (which is a challenging task in itself), kept them active in sports, and taught them the importance of respect. This is what I came to know. I want to thank you for all the things you encouraged me to do in life and the many talks you gave me throughout the years. I couldn't wait to tell you and Bunny that I joined the military. You guys were so excited for me, which meant a lot. We all love you. Rest in peace and happy transitioning to new beginnings. Congratulations on starting your new journey with our Heavenly Father. May God keep you in His grace and continue to use you for His work. Happy travels. Felix Cook aka "Fenox" as what Peter would say.
