Funeral service for Lewis Alexander, 84, of Auburn, AL, will be at 12:00 noon, Saturday, January, 24, 2026, at Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church, 1535 West Farmville Road, Auburn, AL, 36830 with interment in Westview Cemetery, 700 Westview Drive, Auburn, AL, 36832, Reverend V. Dion Gilbert, Pastor, Bishop Nolan T. Torbert, Eulogist.
Mr. Alexander, who passed away Sunday, January 11, 2026 at the East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, Alabama, was born October 2, 1941, in Lowndes County, Alabama.
Public viewing will be Friday, January 23, 2026, from 2:00 p.m.- 6:00 p.m.
Mr. Alexander will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to the service.
He leaves to cherish his memory: five children, Jeanette Johnson, Wilma (David) Core, Lewis Frank Alexander, Jr., Louie Alexander all of Auburn, AL and Melissa Alexander of Opelika, AL; thirteen grandchildren, Timothy (Monica) Dowdell, Nicolas (Tawana) Dowdell, Antonial Alexander, LaTorya Walker, Jadez (Jasmine) Menifee, Kendrell Alexander, Kenyatta Alexander, LaShawn Alexander, Lakeisha Heard, Lamarcus Heard, Latravius Heard, LaKyhia Walker and Danielle Core; a host of great-grandchildren; five sisters, Sally Lue Alexander of Hayneville, AL, Christine Cooper, Clarinet Haygood both of Montgomery, AL, Bessie (Steven) Brigham of Rock Hill, SC and Mary (Alphonso) McConnico of Douglassville, GA; four brothers, Billy Haygood of Hayneville, AL, Willie (Glenda) Fleeton of Greenville, AL, Thomas (Cheryl) Phifer of Hope Hull, AL and David Fleeton of Hope Hull, AL; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Mr. Lewis was such a wonderful man. One thing I can say is that he loved his grand kids. May his soul rest in peace.
