Funeral service for Linda Dowdell-Pope, 70, of Opelika, AL, will be at 11:00 a.m. CST, Monday, September 12, 2022, at Bethel #2 Missionary Baptist Church, 1785 Lee Road 29, Opelika, AL 36804 with interment in the church cemetery, Reverend Michael Heard, Officiating and Pastor Isaac Nunn, Eulogist. (Facial covering is required)

Mrs. Dowdell-Pope, who passed away Thursday, September 8, 2022 at the Bethany House in Auburn, Alabama, was born October 29, 1951 in Macon County, Alabama.

Public viewing will be Sunday, September 11, 2022, from 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. CST (Facial covering is required). Mrs. Dowdell-Pope will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to the service.

An Omega Omega Service will be conducted by Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. immediately following the public viewing.

She leaves to cherish her memory: four siblings, Patricia Dowdell, Barbara Patrick both of Opelika, AL, Gerald (Antoinette) Dowdell of Alexandria, VA and Victor (Bernetha) Burt of Auburn, AL; one aunt, Mary Humphries of Opelika, AL; one niece, Conethra (Q) Burt-Kelley; a devoted cousin, Phyllis Fuller of Opelika, AL; mother-in-law, Doris Pope of Americus, GA; two sisters-in-law, Nadine Pope of Americus, GA and Linda Pope-Larkins of Albany, GA; one brother-in-law, Leonard Pope of Americus, GA; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends

A beautiful, loving, compassionate woman who always had a smile. She was a stranger to no one, loved by many and so full of love for her family. May God bless the caregivers, family, and friends of Lindsay RIH Linda.
