Funeral service for Lorenza Ray, 88, of Auburn, AL, will be at 1:00 p.m., Sunday, November 2, 2025, at Mt. Pelia Missionary Baptist Church, 377 Lee Road 78, Camp Hill, AL 36850 with interment in church cemetery, Reverend Otis Tyner, Jr. will officiate.
Mr. Ray, who passed away Tuesday, October 28, 2025 at the East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, AL, was born June 25, 1937, in Chambers County, Alabama.
Public viewing will be Saturday, November 1, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. β 6:00 p.m.
Mr. Ray will lie in repose at the church from 12:30 p.m. until 1:00 p.m.
He leaves to cherish his memory: a devoted daughter, Annie Pearl (Charles) Sims of Auburn, AL; six grandchildren, Benjamin Jamar Ray, Genaya Alicia Ray both of Auburn, AL, Gabriel (LaToya) Ray of Sacramento, CA, Antonio Tolbert (Moody) , Lakesha Tolbert and Janorris Tolbert (Tequila) all of Huntsville, AL; one brother, Robert Ray of Opelika, AL; five sisters, Mary Ray, Emmie Williams, Alice Hall all of Valley, AL, Lizzie (Roy) Pollard of Opelika, AL and Bertha Hardie of West Islip, NY; one brother-in-law, Jessie (Delores) Ogletree of Columbus, GA; one sister-in-law, Ruby Ogletree of Opelika, AL; godson, Terrence (Ashley) Story of Auburn, AL; devoted friends, Robert Williams, Jessie Webb, Ketonio Heard, Eddie Moore and Melvin Heard all of Auburn, AL, and Randell Goodman; a host of great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, church family and friends.
