Obituary For Louise Dinkins Pitts
Ms. Pitts, daughter of the late Mr. Harry and Mrs. Naomi Dallas Dinkins, was born June 2, 1948, in Lee County, Alabama. She peacefully transitioned on February 9, 2026.
Louise was a devoted woman of faith who confessed Christ in her twenties and worshiped faithfully within the Pentecostal Holiness movement before uniting with The Move of God Deliverance Tabernacle. Her life was marked by prayer, humility, strength, and unwavering trust in God.
She was educated in the Lee County School District and later retired from Auburn University after 28 years of dedicated service.
Family was the center of her life. Louise was a loving mother, grandmother, great‑grandmother, and the matriarch of her family, known for her hospitality, exceptional cooking, and the love she poured into every generation.
She was preceded in death by: Willie James Pitts, with whom she shared ten years of marriage, and her siblings; Mary Wilson, Ned Dankins, Jessie Dinkins, Elbert Dinkins, Charles Dinkins, and Ella Love.
She leaves to cherish her memory her children: Yolanda Dinkins of Opelika, Alabama, Michael (Kemmie) Dinkins of Decatur, Georgia, Kelvin Pitts of Opelika, Alabama, James (Antonia) Pitts of Opelika, Alabama, and Maurice Pitts of Stonecrest, Georgia; along with her grandchildren, great‑grandchildren, one sister, sisters‑in‑law, godchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family, church family, and friends.
While she will be deeply missed, her family rejoices knowing she is resting in eternal peace with the Lord.
Funeral service for Louise Dinkins Pitts will be at 12:00 noon, (CST), Saturday, February 14, 2026, at True Deliverance Holiness Church, 936 North Donahue Drive, Auburn, AL 36832 with interment in Move of God Deliverance Tabernacle Church Cemetery, Highway 50, Camp Hill, AL 36850, Bishop Nolan Torbert, Pastor, Reverend Rodney Evans, Sr. Officiating, Brother Willie Ford, Eulogist.
Public viewing will be Friday, February 13, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
Ms. Pitts will lie in repose for one hour at the church prior to the service.

That's her such a beautiful memory (photo) and loving soul of "cuttin" Louise. "Lou" as I know her was a beautiful soul; my heart, mind, body and soul had the blessings to share with her while on AU campus and elsewhere will not go unwavered. Beautiful smile and an affectionate giggle you'd never forget. Family be encouraged and know that she's comfortably at peace in The Arms of Abraham.
