Obituary For Lucille Jordan Bedell
Funeral service for Lucille Bedell, 93, of Opelika, AL, will be at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 1, 2023, at Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 2000 South Uniroyal Road, Opelika, AL 36801 with interment in Evergreen Cemetery, 1409 Monroe Avenue, Opelika, AL 36801, Pastor George C. McCulloh will officiate.
Mrs. Bedell, who passed away Wednesday, July 26, 2023 at her home in Opelika, Alabama, was born July 12, 1930, in Lee County, Alabama.
Public viewing will be Monday, July 31, 2023 from 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Mrs. Bedell will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to the service.
She leaves to cherish her precious memory: two sons, Michael Jordan Bedell and Gregory Octavia (Lisa) Bedell both of Opelika, AL; six grandchildren, Michael J. Bedell, of Fairburn, GA, Yazmen T. Pritchett, Javis O (Jennifer) Bedell both of Opelika, AL, Janessa R. Bedell of Fort Mitchell, AL, Dr. Jade L. (Christopher) Bedell of Round Rock, TX and Dr. Jefferson T. (Avani) Bedell of Houston, TX; four great-grandchildren, Javis O. Bedell II, Julian I. Pritchett, Matthew A. Pritchett all of Opelika, AL and Riya E. Bedell of Houston, TX; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church family and friends.

Mrs. Bedell loved and cared for my family like we were her own. The absolute best neighbor! Always quick to share a verse and a word of wisdom and encouragement. She took my kids to church and kept them when they were sick from school. Always welcomed us when she was sitting on her porch. First woman I ever knew to own her own business. A jewel in the community.
