Funeral service for Luevenia Floyd, 93, of Opelika, AL, will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at Harris Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Garden Hills Cemetery, 1218 Frederick Road, Opelika, AL, 36801, Brother John Cook will officiate.
Mrs. Floyd, who passed away Monday, November 17, 2025 at the East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, Alabama, was born September 26, 1932, in Lee County, Alabama.
Public viewing will be Tuesday, November 25, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. – 6 :00 p.m.
She leaves to cherish her memory: three sisters, Verleane Taylor (Aaron) Almond of Opelika, AL, Gertrude Payne of Killeen, TX and Burnett Adams of Brooklyn, NY; one brother, Tommy (Alice ) Taylor of Auburn, AL; four sisters-in-law, Minnie Gosby of Opelika, AL, Sheree Lockhart, Johnnie Dowdell and Dora Lockhart all of Auburn, AL; one brother-in-law, Billy Philpot of Auburn, AL; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

My sincere condolences to the family. Im truly going to miss my talks with Aunt Luevenia. There were many times when we talked on the phone that I had no clue who Auntie was talking about nor was I familiar with what side of town they were on yet, I continued with the "yes Ma'ams" just like I knew Opelika, AL. Im going to miss her and I know shes keeping heaven updated on the news in the Opelika/Auburn AL area.
