Funeral service for Lula Glaze, 78, of Opelika, AL, will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 2000 South Uniroyal Road, Opelika, Alabama 36804 with interment in Garden Hills Cemetery, 1218 Frederick Road, Opelika, AL 36801, Reverend Dr. George C. McCulloh, Pastor, Reverend Jerry Dowdell, Eulogist.
Ms. Glaze, who passed away Wednesday, July 15, 2026 at her home in Opelika, AL, was born May 19, 1948, in Lee County, Alabama.
Public viewing will be Tuesday, July 21, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Ms. Glaze will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to the service.
She leaves to cherish her memory: three children, Calvin (Stephanie) Glaze of Avondale, AZ, Evelyn Gentry and Debbie Glaze (J.B. Johnson) both of Opelika, AL; eleven grandchildren, Patrice Bryant (Lamar Gaffney), Christopher (Jessica) Gentry, Kamia Glaze all of Opelika, AL Shirley Glaze of Avondale, AZ, Stephen (Erica) Glaze of Phoenix, AZ, Dantavious Gentry of Surpise, AZ, Mekal Taylor Glaze of Phoenix, AZ, Dekeevious Johnson, Jecorius (Lekeita) Johnson both of Opelika, AL, Javaious Johnson of Dallas, TX and Jared Gentry of Opelika, AL; twenty-five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild, Naomi Sullivan; one brother, John (Annie Doris) Harris of Auburn, AL; cousin as a sister, Carrie Strickland of Opelika, AL; two special friends, Princella Core and Evangelist Rosie Roberts both of Opelika, AL; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family of the late Ms. Lula Mae Harris Glaze acknowledges with grateful appreciation all acts of kindness, prayers, cards, telephone calls, flowers, and words of comfort extended to us during our time of bereavement. May God bless each of you.
