Funeral service for MaTiya Smith, 48, of Atlanta, GA, will be at 12:00 noon, Saturday, August 22, 2026, at Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 2461 US Highway 29 N, Auburn, AL, 36830, with interment in Darlington Cemetery, 205 Edwards Drive, Tuskegee, AL, 36803, Reverend Chester Levett will officiate.

Ms. Smith, who passed away Wednesday, August, 12, 2026 at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia, was born June 30, 1978, in Duval County, Florida.

Public viewing will be Friday, August 21, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Ms. Smith will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to the service.

She leaves to cherish her memories: father, Milton (Tara) Brown of Decatur, GA; mother, LaJuana (Charles) Levett of Auburn, AL; four children, Tyrone Smith Sr. of Atlanta, GA, TyQuaisia (Deonta) Watson-Hill, Sr. of Stockbridge, GA, Za Niya Smith and Ja kiya Smith both of Atlanta, GA; grandfather, Charles Foote of Jacksonville, FL; eleven grandchildren, Tyrone Smith, Jr., Ayden Smith, Avah Smith, Carter Smith, Tyrion Smith, Maloni Smith, all of Atlanta; Deonta Hill, Jr., Taydin Hill, Tai’Lyn Hill, Zeonta Hill and Emaje’ Hill all of Stockbridge; one sister, Kia (Dexter) Barrow of Ft. Mitchell, AL; three brothers, Milton (Rebekah) Smith of Decatur, GA, Christopher Brown of Conyers, GA and Myles Brown of Decatur, GA; eight aunts, Marilyn Brown of Auburn, AL, Shirley Strickland of Opelika, AL, Cynthia Perkins of Auburn, AL, Elder Felicia (Gary) Cannon of Lithonia, GA; Tiffany Foote-Holbdy of Dallas, TX, Carlanette Fitzpatrick, Janice Fitzpatrick and Yolanda Yvette Corbitt all of Jacksonville, FL; three great-aunts, Alice Cloud of Decatur, GA, Beverly Foote of Lawrenceville, GA and Sherrian Harris of Auburn, AL; three uncles, Richard Brown of Auburn, AL, Terry Sr. (Verlia) Brown of Albany, GA and Sandy (Cynthia) Brown of Opelika, AL; three great-uncles, Richard (Yolanda) Howard of Killeen, TX, Vernell Foote and Reginald Foote both of Jacksonville, FL: one niece, Charlie Smith of Decatur GA; four nephews, Milton Smith Jr. of Decatur GA, Kyrie Smith of Mableton GA, Chase Brown of Stockbridge GA, and Kaiev Barrow of Ft.
