Graveside service for Melvin Yancey, 63, of Auburn, AL, will be at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, October 31, 2026, at Westview Cemetery, 700 West View Drive, Auburn, AL, 36832, Bishop Nolan T. Torbert will officiate.
Mr. Yancey, who passed away Saturday, October 24, 2026 at Baptist East Medical Center in Montgomery, Alabama, was born June 22, 1963, in Lee County, Alabama.
Public viewing will be Friday, October 30, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. โ 6:00 p.m.
He leaves to cherish his memory: two children, LaTia Griffin (Shakeela Webb) of Auburn, AL and Michael (Bianca) Parker of Warner Robins, GA; five grandchildren, OโNyjah Griffin, Angeliah Smith, Chance Smith all of Auburn, AL, Armani Frazier and Skylar Parker both of Warner Robins, GA; one sister, Athera Perry of Auburn, AL; two brothers, Michael (Marsha) Yancey of Auburn, AL and Dan Yancey of Birmingham, AL; fiancรฉ; Gloria Tolbert of Auburn. AL; one special niece, Dwana (Darryl) Clement of Trussville, AL; three special nephews, Dandre Yancey of Montgomery, AL, Tristan Yancey and Terry Brown, Jr. both of Auburn, AL; three special friends, Oliver Edwards, Anthony Edwards and James Nolan all of Auburn, AL; a god-sister, Cynthia Grimmett-Owens of Auburn, AL; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.
The family of Melvin Yancey acknowledges with grateful appreciation all acts of kindness, prayers, cards, telephone calls, flowers, and words of comfort extended to us during our time of bereavement. May God bless each of you.
