Funeral service for Michael Thomas, 68, of Opelika, AL, will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 1, 2025, at Harris Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Garden Hills Cemetery, 1218 Frederick Road, Opelika, AL, 36801, Reverend Betty Ann Ray will officiate.
Mr. Thomas, who passed away Friday, October 24, 2025 at Grandview Medical Center in Birmingham, Alabama, was born April 29, 1957, in Chambers County, Alabama.
Public viewing will be Friday, October 31, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
He leaves to cherish his memory: four children, Kaponia (Calvin) Holloway, Natoisha (Tony) Walton, Marcus Thomas all of Opelika, AL and Michael (Jamiisha) Preston of Valley, AL; eight grandchildren, Zacarrah Holloway, Lacrarious Traylor, Markayla Thomas, Marcus Decarlos Thomas, Bralen Lockhart all of Opelika, AL, Makiya Hutchinson of Alexander City, AL, Lance DiCarlo Bullock and Lucas DiAron Thomas both of Chipley, FL; four great-grandchildren, Zane Alexander Holloway, Zarryah Alece Holloway, Zamir Armon Holloway and Lacrarious Traylor, Jr. of Opelika, AL; four sisters, Dicie Lorenzo, Patricia (Kenny) Moore of Indianapolis, IN, Sara (Adair) Ambus and Fannie (Christopher) Moore both of Opelika, AL; one brother, Jerry Thomas of Opelika, AL; five aunts, Shirley Sims of Opelika, AL, Christine (Reverend Jimmy) Thomas, Catherine Hughley, Reverend Betty Ray, Earline Ferrell all of Lafayette, AL; one uncle, Alton Hutchinson of Lafayette, AL; four sisters-in-law, Mary Lois Nelson of Carrolton, TX, Jacqueline (Victor) Powell of Lewisville, TX, Donna Ray and Cynthia (James) Dowdell both of Opelika, AL; two brothers-in-law, Johnny (Vickie) Ray and James Ray both of Opelika, AL; three special friends, Carrie Buchannon, Tony Wilson and Helen Smith all of Opelika, AL; fur baby, Bobbie; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
