Graveside service for Minnie Ford, 54, of Opelika, AL, will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 25, 2020, at Young’s Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery, 115 Cemetery Street, Lineville, AL 36266, Pastor Valerie Cheely will officiate.
Mrs. Ford, who passed away Saturday, April 18, 2020 at her home in Opelika, AL, was born October 25, 1965 in Clay County, Alabama. Minnie was a member of Young’s Chapel United Methodist Church in Lineville, AL. She loved going to church and having fun with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren. She was the backbone of the family. She was preceded in death by: parents, Floyd and Mary Burney Phillips, Sr.; brother, Floyd Wayne Phillips, Jr. and god-daughter, Erica Fleming.
Survivors include: husband, Michael Ford, Opelika, AL; two children, Rochelle (Eddie) Hayes of Phenix City, AL and Jessie Phillips of Opelika, AL; one sister, Minnie Caldwell (Melvin Robinson of Montgomery, AL; one brother, Luther Phillips of Opelika, AL; grandmother, Savannah Burney of Winston, GA; twelve grandchildren, Eddie Hayes, Jr., Eddie Jaden Hayes, ZaCameron Hayes, Morgen Hayes, Kalebb Hayes, Jessie Phillips, Jr., Jessie Phillips, III, Jessica Phillips, Trustin Phillips, Jakayla Phillips, Jayla Phillips and Jameia Phillips; seven brothers-in-law, Wayne (Georgia) Ford, Henry Ford, Frank Ford all of Lineville, AL, Billy (Melissa) Ford of Huntsville, AL, Warren (Shirley) Ford, Robert (Faye) Ford and Ray (Christine) Ford all of Hayne City, FL; four sisters-in-law, Jeanette (Charles) Anderson, Mary (Carlton) Colvard, Clois Harrison and Bessie (David) Hudson all of Atlanta, GA; two special nephews, Tyree Caldwell of Opelika, AL and Jimmy (Hilda) Caldwell of Montgomery, AL; four special friends, Angela (Jerry) Edmondson, Carolyn Lindsey, Louis (Bonnie) Lyles all of Lineville, AL and Janice (Roscoe) McNeal of Talladega, AL; a host of other relatives and friends.
In an order and following the ADPH recommendations concerning (COVID-19) effective March 28, 2020 to keep the community safe, the funeral service will be for the family only. Based on recommendations from the ADPH, all participants must maintain a consistent six-foot distance between all parties during the service.
