Funeral service for Minnie Douglas, 72, of Cusseta, AL, will be at 11:00 a.m. (CST), Saturday, May 10, 2025, at Mountain Springs Missionary Baptist Church, 4789 Lee Road 158, Salem, AL. 36874 with interment in Garden Hills Cemetery, 1218 Frederick Road, Opelika, AL, 36801, Reverend George Rampey will officiate.

Mrs. Douglas, who passed away Thursday, May 1, 2025 at the Bethany House in Auburn, Alabama, was born February 1, 1953, in Lee County, Alabama.

Public viewing will be Friday, May 9, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. (CST)

Mrs. Douglas will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to the service.

Minnie leaves to continue this journey and cherish her memories: one son, Jamie (Felicia) Douglas of Cusseta, AL, one stepdaughter, Wanda (Larry) Hicks of Opelika, AL; one daughter-in-law and caregiver, Chyristal Florence Douglas of Valley, AL; eleven grandchildren, Keshon (Briana) Douglas, Tri Glasco, Ricky Williams, Jr, Cordarryl Williams, Angelria McCullough, Lashuandra Williams, Chryteria (Gary) Morgan, Eriquel Florence, Erique’ (Bianca) Florence, Arteria Florence and Riontae Zeigler; twenty-seven great-grandchildren, Legend, Adore, Aiden, Ava, Ayanna, Calen, Nevaeh, Kevin, Adia, Kace, Kaisley, Kyleigh, Kyzer, Tyson, Cruz, Greyson, Salandra, Jaquency, London, Jakeion, Kiera, Daishawn, Dynastee, Jasiah, Sania, Serenity and Makyvion; one stepmother, Mae Lois Core of Valley, Alabama; two brothers, Robert Core, Jr. and Eddie Core both of Valley, AL; three sisters, Mary (Robert) Madden, Shelia (Charlie) Newton and Yolanda Core all of Valley, AL; two brothers-in- law, Jessie Lee (Janet) Foreman and Leon Martin both of Opelika, AL; five sisters-in-law, Corrine Martin of Valley, AL, Elizabeth Foreman of Cusseta, AL, Christine Dublin, Earnestine (Ricky) Johnson and Brenda Foreman all of Opelika, AL; special uncle, Willie Ralph (Bobbie Jean) Core of Valley, AL; three uncles, Ellis (Evella) Core of University Heights, OH, Lewis (Beverly) Core of Salem, AL and Lee James (Wanda) Core; one special friend who she cared for dearly, LV Lillie of Salem, AL; three special cousins who were like her sisters, Joyce Upshaw, Sally Wilkerson and Molly Williams; one special niece who she cared for like a daughter, Katisha Foreman of Lanett, AL; one special friend, Cherry Perryman of Opelika, AL; a host of great uncles, great aunts, nieces, and cousins, and friends.
