Obituary For Mitchell Lewis Rowe
Funeral services for Mitchell Rowe, 68, of Auburn, AL, will be at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, September 21, 2023 at Harris Funeral Home Chapel, with interment in Pine Level Cemetery, 4650 Arrow Head Road, Loachapoka, AL, 36865, Reverend James Jenkins will officiate.
Mr. Rowe, who passed away Wednesday, September 13, 2023 at his home in Auburn, Alabama, was born September 22, 1954 in Lee County, Alabama.
Public viewing will be Thursday, September 21, 2023, from 12:00 noon – 1:00 p.m.
“Mitch” or “King”, as he was affectionately known, graduated from Beauregard High School Class of 1972. He served his country in the United States Army. On August 10, 1984 he united in holy matrimony with Beverly Springer Rowe, and this union was blessed with thirty-nine wonderful years of marital bliss. Mitch enjoyed traveling, spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. He was an avid Alabama football fan, “Roll Tide.”
He leaves to cherish his precious memories: wife, Beverly Rowe of Auburn, AL; seven children, Jihan Rowe (Carl Flood), Jilal Rowe both of Opelika, AL, Rashid Rowe, Jabril (Desmond) Barnett, Lakinna Rowe, Makkah (Ramir) Reed-Hobbs all of Auburn, AL and Khalid (Sharonda) Rowe of Lawton, OK; twelve grandchildren; step-father, John Card of Cleveland, OH; one sister, Mary Ann (William) Wisdom of Opelika, AL; two brothers, Cody (JoAnn) Blackmon and John L. Blackmon both of Auburn, AL; mother-in-law, Evelyn Macon of Opelika, AL; two sisters-in-law, Janie (Ocie) Griffin of Auburn, AL and Annie (Edward) Hunter of Opelika, AL; three brothers-in-law, Rayford Brown of Chicago, IL, Robert (Charlotte) Springer of Opelika, AL and Joe Springer of Tuskegee, AL; two special cousins, James Jenkins of Gary, IN and Shawnta Ware of Notasulga, AL; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
