Funeral service for Nakia Dorsey, 49, of Opelika, AL, will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 3, 2024, at St. Paul A.M.E. Church, 713 Powledge Avenue, Opelika, AL, 36801 with interment in Evergreen Cemetery, 1409 Monroe Avenue, Opelika, AL, 36801, Reverend Willie Lyles, Pastor and Officiating, Reverend James Q. Smith, Eulogist.
Mr. Dorsey, who passed away Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at the East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, Alabama, was born November 1, 1974, in Lee County, Alabama.
Public viewing will be Friday, August 2, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Mr. Dorsey will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to the service.
He leaves to cherish his memory: father, Willie Frank Dorsey of Opelika, AL; one brother, Antonio (Shante`) Dorsey of University Place, WA; two nephews, Amari Dorsey and Kai Dorsey; two nieces, Taya Dorsey and Kyliah Dorsey all of University Place, Washington; two uncles, Carnell Dorsey of Dadeville, AL and Lorenza (Bettye) Dorsey of Auburn, AL; two aunts, Earnestine Dorsey of Opelika, AL and Ellen Dorsey of Camp Hill, AL; a special cousin, John E. Richardson of Montgomery, AL; a host of cousins, Wal-Mart family and many friends.

Everytime you saw 'Kit', he was smiling. I met him when I transferred to Walmart 355. He was kind and dedicated to his job. I'm going to miss him 🥺
