Funeral service for Rena Mims, 72, of Valley, AL, will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 17, 2026, at Peace and Goodwill Missionary Baptist Church, 4280 County Road 22 Waverly, AL, 36879, Evangelist Paticia Tucker, Officiating, Reverend Charles Magby, Eulogist.
Mrs. Mims, who passed away Friday, January 9, 2026 at St. Francis Hospital in Columbus, Georgia, was born May 11, 1953, in Chambers County, Alabama.
Public viewing will be Friday, January 16, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. β 6:00 p.m.
Mrs. Mims will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to the service.
She leaves to cherish her memory: one sister, Delois Ray of Valley, AL; one brother, Willie (Corinna) Woods of Radcliffe, KY; stepbrother, Reverend Arthur Robinson of Notasulga, AL; a devoted companion, Jessie Cooper of Valley, AL; three aunts, OβNell Bledsoe of Opelika, AL, Lula Woods and Mary Emma Woods both of Lafayette, AL; one uncle, Willie Bledsoe of Loachapoka, AL; two nieces, Nakeda Woods of Opelika, AL and Tasha Ousley of Atlanta, GA; five nephews, Kenneth Nunn of Opelika, AL, Marcus Wilson of Auburn, AL, Chris Woods of Radcliff, KY, Sharod (Michelle) Woods and Brandon Ray both of Atlanta, GA; a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and friends.
